INSIDE THIS WEEK'S EDITION:
😤TRENDS TO SKIP 🗳️POLITICS & BIZ 🔢NUMBERS THAT MATTER 🔥ONE MOVE 🛠️TOOL I'M TESTING 🌙COSMIC CORNER
Happy Tuesday, Reader!
It has been A LOT out there lately. I actually just saw the funniest post about it being "Maycember" - all the chaos of December, but without the joyful end-of-year celebrations. 😪 When we're overwhelmed with everything, we can turn to things like our phone to self-soothe. And if you're doing that more than usual, you're not broken. You're human and those apps are all built to satisfy our urges for dopamine and entertainment. But your business needs the version of you that isn't running on cortisol and outrage, so let's talk about it. 👇

😤TRENDS TO SKIP
Repurposing as Your Main Content Strategy
Repurposing content is great, especially if it did well the first time you sent it out! Turning a great email into a post, pulling a quote from a podcast episode, revisiting an old idea with fresh eyes...this is all a great strategy. But making repurposing your entire strategy, slicing the same idea into 11 formats and calling it a content plan, isn't really going to serve you.
Plus, you don't want to just repurpose other people's content either. Instagram just made it official: They recently announced they're de-prioritizing reposted content from other creators, meaning direct reshares won't be shown to non-followers. The algorithm is done rewarding the copy-paste approach. Original content only.
Which, honestly? Good. The business owners who stand out right now aren't the ones with the most optimized repurposing system. They're the ones who actually have a point of view and say it out loud.

Your content plan isn't a Canva template. It's what you actually think/teach/believe and then share. |

🗳️POLITICS & BUSINESS OWNERSHIP
When the News Cycle Becomes a Business Problem
I'm not going to pretend the current news cycle is neutral background noise. Tariffs are real. Federal funding cuts are real. Gaza and Iran are VERY real. The uncertainty around what's coming next week, let alone next quarter, is real. And as a business owner, you are probably tracking it more closely than most because you have skin in the game.
Here's where it gets tricky: there's a line between monitoring what's actually affecting your business and spending three hours a day processing collective anxiety. One of those is strategic. The other is quietly destroying your capacity to think clearly, make good decisions, and show up for your clients.

🪤THE TRAP
Convincing yourself that consuming more information equals being more prepared.
|
|
💪THE MOVE
Set a news window. Twenty minutes, same time each day, from sources you've deliberately chosen. Then close the tab. What you need to know will still be there tomorrow. What you need to protect is your ability to think.

🔢THE NUMBERS THAT MATTER
42% of Americans Are Now Actively Avoiding the News
News avoidance in the U.S. hit a record high of 42% in early 2026, coinciding with peak search interest in terms like "news fatigue" and "digital detox." And of people who do spend extended time online, nearly two-thirds report feeling tired and exhausted, and over half report burnout, overwhelm, or difficulty focusing.
The question for you as a business owner isn't whether to pay attention; it's whether your current strategy for reaching others is acting as a lighthouse in the fog of AI slop and political commentary. (Although I do love some good political commentary!)
YOUR PEOPLE NEED YOU TO BE THEIR GUIDE.

🔥ONE MOVE, ONE MINUTE
Be the Signal, Not the Noise
Your audience is drowning in content right now. Breaking news, hot takes, AI-generated everything, and approximately 47 opinions about all of it. Which means the bar for cutting through has actually never been lower, because most of what's out there is reactive, rushed, and forgettable.
This week, send one piece of communication, like an email, a post, or a voice note to a client, that has absolutely nothing to do with what's trending. Share a specific result you got for a client. Tell a story from your own business that taught you something. Ask your audience a real question you actually want the answer to.
Intentional beats algorithmic every single time. While everyone else is feeding the scroll, you can be the thing someone actually stops for.

🛠️TOOL I'M TESTING
Wispr Flow for Voice to Text Copy
A colleague shared Wispr Flow with me this week on a call and I'm...cautiously optimistic. Ya girl can type really quickly, but that repetitive motion is also not good for the wrists after a long day at the keyboard. I'm wondering if I'll like a voice-to-text platform for taking notes or planning out emails? As always, I'll report back on what I discover!

🌙COSMIC CORNER
Pluto Goes Retrograde on Wednesday!
Pluto goes Retrograde in Aquarius for about 5 months starting this Wednesday, May 6th. If you've experienced big shifts lately, take some time this week to integrate and embody some of those changes. This might look like sitting down with your journal to brain dump what's been going on, or it might be a good time to start planning your next actions with clear boundaries and your values riding in the sidecar.
Pluto will reveal your integrity, values, and true desires. Let it peel back the layers for you and see what happens!
