Happy Tuesday, Reader!
Dolly has officially been with us for a little over a week and it's so interesting being around a puppy again. It truly is her very first time doing so many things. She's curious, sometimes startled, and overall eager to try things out for herself. I forgot how new everything is for a 6-month-old puppy.
And the thing we don't tend to acknowledge about ourselves is it's our first time being here too.
Yeah, we've gotten really good at some things. Sometimes that whole "it's not my first rodeo" saying is so old hat that we don't even consider it as a phrase that applies to us.
So, the next time you struggle with something or feel fear around trying something new, ask yourself: "Is this brand new for me?" and if it is, cut yourself some slack. Even if it's not BRAND new, but rather relatively new, give yourself some grace.

There's this idea that shadow work has to be hard or dark or confrontational. What if embracing your authenticity was your shadow work for the week?
Seriously, think about it: Being yourself is one of the most powerful things you can be. It may not be easy, but hopefully it's not dark or "shadowy" either.
Here are a few ways you can embrace your authenticity this week:
- Make a business decision in alignment with your values
- Speak your mind when you feel called to chime into a conversation
- Dress how YOU want to dress, not how you think others expect you to dress
- Be as wacky, weird, or magickal as you want to be with a trusted, safe person
