New Reiki Research!
As a Reiki Master, I don't need convincing, but I LOVE it when new research comes out to show how effective it truly is.
In a 2024 randomized, placebo-controlled trial, Reiki significantly reduced blood cortisol levels and anxiety compared to both sham Reiki and no-treatment control groups.
(BTW, I laugh every time I read "sham Reiki" or "sham healer" in these studies. Like, I get it, but also it doesn't seem all that "science-y," you know?)
Other studies show that Reiki helps reduce anxiety, improve quality of life, and help our parasympathetic nervous system, which helps reduce cortisol levels.
