• the rescuing reflex
• guilt around saying no
• fear of disappointing others
• perfectionism disguised as “holiday cheer”

1. Saying yes from obligation, not desire

Your body whispers “no”… but your holiday conditioning says “don’t rock the boat.”

2. Doing emotional labor for everyone in the room

Managing the vibe. Making sure no one argues. Anticipating other people’s needs before they have them. You know what I mean.

This is draining because it’s invisible work, aka emotional labor.

3. Taking responsibility for other people’s joy

You are not the holiday cruise director. You don’t owe anyone a perfect season.
